January with too few blue skies

Cold and windy? No, damp and rainy. Sorry we're not used to this at all (LOL).
New Year's day was fine but rather cloudy (-5° at midday) with a few rays of sun on abandoned fishing tackle.
The local French saying "après la pluie, le beau temps", is supposed to boost the morale but this year January seems to have beaten the records for grey skies, heavy and light showers and very few hours (not days) of sunshine...
As a consolation, a summary of the scarce sunny intervals with apparitions of the common crane, ballet-dancing storks, the western swamphen eating roots, a kestrel ready to pounce on its prey, a common buzzard, pheasants in the rice fields and a few flowers (almond blossom, mimosa and viburnum tinus)...
